Dev Blog #1 [11/18/2023]

As we move further along in the development of the game-mode, the management team in conjunction with the development team have decided that semi-regular development blogs may be beneficial in order to maintain a degree of transparency and keep everyone updated with the latest & greatest improvements pertaining to the script. So, let's begin with one major step we've just finished, which is...

Houses


As of yesterday, 11/17/23, courtesy of @Pitix, we have officially completed the integration of our housing system. Although it is somewhat simple, very elegant, and user-friendly, there is one last step in order to make it truly ours: custom interiors. As we move towards ensuring the appropriate energy is met within our community, we believe that this is crucial. We are trying our best with them, but we are also very much so looking to bring on mappers with experience in this regard. Feel free to reach out to me at your earliest convenience if you think that is something you can assist us with!

Moving on.. we would also like to announce that another, equally important system is somewhat finished as well. Fully functional, ready to rock - but in order to make it truly something special, we have a couple more features coming to fruition that will take it to the next level. Without further ado....

Vehicles

We have finished with a very robust, and performance-friendly vehicle system that will be the baseline going forward. Along with that, the fuel system, damages, customization also comes with that - so no need to fear, anything you imagine is taken care of.

As we progress further with businesses / the economy, we will be sure to make sure vehicles will always be taken into consideration and utilized appropriately. We, as a team, are collectively excited to show you all of the awesome features, as well as the careful consideration taken when creating this system, shortly. Anyways, we also felt as if we needed a bit of a new look... so if you haven't noticed, we changed up our color schemes. And that has a ripple effect to the things we do in-game... right on queue...

Our new (and improved) login + character selection user interfaces!


In-case you haven't been keen on keeping up with the #sneak-peeks channel we have on our main Discord, or you are new and haven't had a chance to explore there yet, worry no more, as I will be showing you the new UIs.... now!

if that is enough to pique your interest, be prepared for more sneak peeks dropping soon - we aren't going to show all of our secrets, but we'll make sure some of the latest and greatest improvements are showcased. Thanks to @danut for ensuring clean looking user interfaces at all hours of the day.

As I know I will get questions about this; we are also actively working on:

  • Jobs
These are all under heavy progression (as you can see in our #git-log Discord channel), and we are still looking for suggestions pertaining to some of these things. Anything you would like to see, please, feel free to mention.
