Dev Blog #2: Unveiling New Script Enhancements and Systems!

Greetings, Paleto Bay Roleplay Community!


As we continue to forge ahead with the development of our game mode, we're thrilled to share some exciting updates and enhancements that have been implemented into the RAGE script. Without further ado, let's dive into the latest and greatest features!

1. :phone: Payphone System + Burner Phone
One significant addition to our script is the implementation of the Payphone System and Burner Phone systems respectively. Now players can interact with payphones throughout the city, providing a unique and immersive experience. Alternatively, if you would like to take a cheaper, more promiscuous approach to a hand-held phone, that option will also be available. 3. ๐Ÿ  Housing System Completed
In our previous dev blog, we proudly announced the completion of our Housing System. Now, we're delving into the development of a Furniture System to further enhance the interiors of these houses. Witness a glimpse of the work in progress in our #sneak-peeks channel on Discord.

4. :bed: Housing: Furniture
Above, we mention that we've managed to expand upon houses and their interiors even further. Well, we have also implemented a state-of-the-art Furniture System + User Interface to match that. Although we will not unveil the full specifics at this time, you can find #sneak-peeks on our Discord.

5. โ˜ ๏ธ Death/Injury System
Our development efforts have also been focused on refining the Death/Injury System. Experience the realism with corpse objects, realistic damage from different weapons/circumstances - with a matching medical system soon to follow.

6. :cop: Siren + ELM System for Faction Vehicles
For added realism, faction vehicles now come equipped with a dynamic siren system and ELM systems. These will soon be unveiled in a large sneak peek dump.

7. ๐Ÿ“‡ Vehicle Information Display
Upon entering a vehicle, players will now receive dynamically generated information about the vehicle. This will be further accessed with a custom-tailored vehicle control panel, coming soon.

8. :tractor: Jobs
Within the last couple of weeks, we have begun to fully implement fleshed-out and immersive jobs. Although these will be the primary script-jobs, we do have plans to integrate various other ways to obtain income within the Paleto Bay Economy.

9. :man: Character Customization
As you may have seen, we have completed our intuitive character creation system. This will be used to make your characters EXACTLY how you want them. The possibilities are endless.

10. ๐Ÿงผ General Refinement
As we look at the environment of our test server, we have begun polishing + refining the experience to match the true environment we want to give the players. This includes easier accessibility to knowledge of our POIs, multiple ATMs around the region for easy access to money, map icons for key components within the world, and core features fully-fleshed out.

In our relentless pursuit of refining the gaming experience, our development endeavors span both script and web components. Let's delve into the intricate developments that have seamlessly amalgamated to elevate our virtual realm.

:hammer: Developer Insights: Beyond the Surface
Before delving into specific systems, a complex overview of our recent script enhancements includes:

- Commerce functionality for gas station businesses and the introduction of Garages as a new property class.
- The inception of the licenses system, beginning with the **Department of Motor Vehicles** business and the creation of a meticulously designed route and mapping.
- Implementation of the HUD's general information, including player location, cardinal direction, and a comprehensive vehicle odometer showcasing speed and fuel.
- Additions of new items and modded vehicles, a sneak peek of which has been and will continue to be unveiled on our Discord.
- Refinement of general vehicle systems encompassing renting, fuel consumption, and ownership.

:desktop: Web Development: Simultaneous Progression
Simultaneously, while orchestrating symphonies in the script domain, we've initiated robust developments in the web sphere. No aspect is left behind as we ensure parallel progression on both fronts. This is including but not limited to:

- Custom-tailored homepage which will be unveiled in the near future, once we reach a specific milestone.
- Progression of our extensive and customized User Control Panel, which will be your all-inclusive tool to control any and all information regarding you and your characters here at Paleto Bay Roleplay.

The API of the user control panel, serving as the vital bridge connecting the web interface to the server, has been completed. However, we acknowledge that perfection is an ongoing journey, and improvements are underway to fortify security and ensure the fluidity of the API.

2. โ„น๏ธ Help Page Functionality: Navigating the Assistance Landscape
A revolutionary addition to our script is the Help Page, accessible to players using the [/help] command. Upon activation, a browser instance will be spawned using the domain [redacted]. Players can seamlessly log into their master accounts and submit technical support requests. These requests will be broadcasted to all members of our staff team, including admins and testers. 3. ๐Ÿค– Miscellaneous Section: A Bot Marvel
A special mention goes to our developer @nichxlas for crafting a bespoke bot tailored for our main Discord server, seamlessly integrating with our community hub.

In the vast landscape of development, each line of code signifies a stride towards an unparalleled gaming adventure. A forthcoming landing page, intricately connected to the server, is in progress, promising to deliver insightful player base information, as teased in this sneak peek.

Simultaneously, our devoted team is actively implementing vital details in our HUD, constructing an informative tutorial covering server intricacies and roleplay rules. Concurrently, we are fine-tuning minor elements like DMV and jail/release points, as well as the upcoming Business , Vehicle Customization, and Companies systems, respectively.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to our full team, including management, developers, and administrative teams, as well as every community member standing beside us.
